Al Gore's pro-environment message is resonating like wildfire in Belgium. The Goracle spent a day in Brussels in early October to promote his film "An Inconvenient Truth." He told the enraptured audience, "Our planet has a fever, and the fever has been getting steadily higher. " Since then, the country has been tripping over itself trying to enact legislation inspired by Gore's passion for the environment and concerns over global warming.
"We must take Al Gore's message seriously," said Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt when proposing a new "environmentally friendly" tax on packages that would penalize users of aluminum or plastic, which release harmful CO2 into the atmosphere. The tax would provide incentives to switch to less harmful paper or cardboard. The measure is quickly becoming known as the "Gore tax," and could become part of the 2007 budget. The government has also proposed tax breaks for car pollution filters and deductions for energy-efficient investors.

what is wrong with us?!? everyone appreciates Al's wisdom and passion but the US.
There are days, as this mid-term rabidity intensifies, that just reading about Gore brings a bit more sanity into my brain. Somewhere, Jms Carville was asked if Gore was running. "Of course he's running," he laughed. Not that Carville has a line to Al's intentions, but, well...just imagining what it would be like to even think there might be an adult in the race. God, Al. We're dyin' here, man. Come on....
We are experiencing the dumbing down of America in full bloom. It started in the 1970s. Many Americans have not developed critical thinking skills which means they do not ask the necessary questions.
Why else would so many people follow Bush and his ilk blindly?

Gore for President. Not only will he save the planet, he will save our country from its downward spiral to becoming a country with its marjority comprised of stupid and unthinking people. He will finally establish a public educational system that works. Not only has Amwerca "dumbed down", students now arrogantly deride Shakespeare, reading, cultural pursuits, and education in genera. It isn't "cool." In others words, being civilized is no longer appealing. To them, smart equals being a nerd, and not acceptable to the "in" majority.
Third party candidate bs is just another symptom of the dumbing down of America.
